Portraits on Location - Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond is one of the most beautiful areas in the UK. I am based within the National Park, so every day I see the limitless potential for portrait photographs. However, this beauty might not be as far from you as you think as there is an amazing statistic that two out of every three people in Scotland live less than an hours drive from it.

I have sold a number of my landscape images of the park but the pictures that I have most enjoyed taking are the portrait shots within the park. The images below are from a session that started at Balmaha with a few shots around the boat yard before a short ferry trip to the beautiful island of Inchcallioch. The family of three children – Lauren, Alix and Joseph along with mum Louise had a wonderful time exploring and being photographed.

A blog for Mother’s Day with an example of my portrait photography in Glasgow, Stirling and Loch Lomond with a picture that features a mum (Emma) and her son (Samuel) having fun together.

Most parents like to stand behind the camera and watch as I take pictures of their little ones playing during a photography session, however it would be a real shame not to have at least one opportunity during the session to capture a moment like this.  

I love it when both mother and child forget their having their photograph taken and just let me capture a very natural and special moment of interaction between them like this.
