Des McLean Urban Glasgow PR Shoot

Glasgow comedian Des McLean recently commissioned me to take a series of PR & Profile photographs for him. Des was heading to New Zealand to play a series of major gigs for the Rugby World Cup and the venues wanted up to date pictures of him to promote his appearances.

We decided to use Glasgow landmarks for the session, without making them the obvious touristy type of pictures. So as you will see you get the urban view of Glasgow with a varied selection of backgrounds. If you know Glasgow well try and guess where the pictures were taken, I will list the answers at the bottom of this blog.

These and other pictures appeared on billboards and on TV commercials across New Zealand so it was good to see them put to use on the other side of the world. If you would like to see more examples of my work, please visit my website or call me on 01360 661029.

Wedding Photography, Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh

I was very pleased to be chosen to be the photographer for Ian and Bea’s wedding last month. It was a wonderful day, starting with the wedding ceremony at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh followed by the reception at The Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street.

Here are just some of my images from their wedding including pictures taken of the couple on the roof of The Balmoral Hotel as the sun set on their wedding day. Bea is from Germany and there was an international flavour to the wedding with the couples guests coming not just from Scotland and Germany, but from all over the world.

Ian and Bea chose the date 9th September to get married as it was the anniversary of (in 1939) Ian's grandparents getting married. Coincidentally they lived in Drymen, Loch Lomond, which is where I am based.

Please get in touch with me for more details about any of my photography services, here is a link to the contact section of my website. You can also join me on my Facebook Page
