Wedding Day Moments

I like it when the pictures on this blog do the talking. In this one a series of images from recent weddings illustrate a typical wedding day.

Every wedding consists of some incredible moments, in fact so many that it is hard for the bride and groom to take them all in. My role is to capture them in pictures that tell the unique story of the day.

We start with the nervous excitement of the bride gets ready.

Then the picture that every bride wants - one of her shoes...

Time to get the dress on - an emotional moment, shared in this case with the brides mother and sister...

The flowers and all the beautiful detail of the day, help to tell the story...

The brief pause when the bride reaches the alter, before the ceremony begins....

The wedding party assembled in front of the minister...

The exchanging of the rings...

You may kiss the bride...

Back down the aisle, hand in hand, a married couple...

The Father of the Bride thanks the Piper...

The wedding party welcomes the bride and groom as they leave the church....

A kiss for the crowds please....

and some confetti...

Your guests enjoy the moment...

...and try not to upstage the bride....

Time for a nice romantic photograph, just the two of you....

and maybe another...

then some mingling with the guests...

Onto the drinks reception...

Whilst I capture all the detail that makes your day so special...

Time for the Wedding Breakfast...

With some emotional speeches...

and a cake to cut...

Then maybe some time for a few more photographs...

Before the first dance...

Getting ready for your big day...

This blog is all about the wedding preparations that lead up to this moment...

I really enjoy all the planning that goes into weddings. For couples that book me I immediately take on a responsibility to capture the uniqueness of their day, with authentic images that they will cherish. I also want them to enjoy the photography - people can often start off by saying that they don't like having their photograph taken, so it's my role to relax them and help them to enjoy the experience.

I always show couples who are interested in me being their photographer at least half a dozen albums of recent weddings before they confirm me as I want them to be sure that they really like my style of photography.

I work with two main suppliers for wedding albums - Graphi, a world leader, with every album hand bound in Italy and Folio, stunning albums that are made in Britain in an environmentally sensitive way. Either way I design all of the albums and offer a variety of beautiful personalised cover options.

As part of my wedding photography services I offer a pre-wedding or engagement session. This is great fun, I take the couple to a nearby park or place that means something to them. I take a series of images with them choosing one which I make into a large picture board with white mount for guests to sign on the day. This is a wonderful record of the day with the people who shared their celebrations.

Before the wedding day I will visit all of the venues where the ceremony and celebrations will be held to do test shots and to meet with the organisers to ensure that everything is set.

The next blog is all about a typical wedding, which of course there isn't. However, if you're planning a wedding I think that you might find it interesting.

If you want more information about my wedding services please send me an e-mail or call me on 01360 661029 or 07810 481426. You can see more of my work at my website and Facebook Pages. I photograph weddings across East, West and Central Scotland, including Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh, Ayrshire and Loch Lomond.

A Special Offer for Charities in Scotland

If you are involved with a charity you may have had the sometimes thankless task of sourcing raffle prizes. In this climate it's even harder, despite there being so many generous people out there.

Hopefully a few phone calls may be saved now as I am offering 10 charities in West, East and Central Scotland a £250 photography voucher each. They can be put to good use to raise funds in 2012 in an auction or raffle.

The voucher can be used against any of my services including Family Portraits and Wedding Photography.

The picture above was from a photography session for a family in Glasgow. They used a voucher, which they successfully bid for at The Marie Curie Glasgow Hospice Ball last year, to get a session. This picture, along with others from the session were selected by them to be included in a beautiful album, paid for by their voucher. Their donation to get the voucher helped to raise funds for a very deserving charity.

The first of the ten vouchers has already gone to The Big Shindig happening in Drymen, Loch Lomond next month which is raising money for The Maggies Centre in Glasgow. But there is still 9 left, so if you are involved in a charity or good cause that would be able to raise funds from a £250 voucher please get in touch and I will be happy to help.

Family Photography

Welcome to my first blog of 2012. There will be a brand new one every Friday on a range of different subjects. Coming next week will be a very special offer to help charities and good causes in Scotland.

I am starting though with some pictures from my final photography session of 2011. This was commissioned by The Gardner Family in Bridge of Allan who wanted a series of natural family pictures, taken in some nearby woods, a favourite place for them to walk and play.

Here are Sam and Eva along with Mum and Dad, Marie and Andrew on a Sunday walk in the woods in December. I really enjoyed this photography session and spending time with this lovely family. Currently I am producing some framed wall art and an album for them.
