Bluebells on Inchcailloch Island, Loch Lomond

This was a dream family photography session - in the bluebells on an island in Loch Lomond! My thanks go to the Hodgson family who had heard that I wanted to capture the bluebells on Inchcailloch Island and were happy to use a voucher, given to them by friends for Christmas, to get pictures of them in this amazing place.

This year the bluebells have come out later due to the cold start to spring. Rangers on the island told us that it's the best coverage of bluebells that they'd ever seen there. If you would like to go to Inchcailloch just go to the boatyard at Balmaha and take the on-demand ferry for the short journey across. Sadly the bluebells have now gone for the year, but it is still a very special place to visit.
