Wedding Photography - Rachel & Ian

Following on from the last blog where I presented some of the images that I took on a pre-wedding shoot with Rachel and Ian, here is the actual wedding. Well it's not an actual wedding it was created by the wonderful people at Aspire to give me the opportunity to build a portfolio of the type of photographs that I will take at future weddings, I hope that you like the pictures and style of the images. First let's start with one that completely sums up the day and the happy couple.

I would like to thank Carla Oldcorn who did the hair and to Helen-Lousie Townson for the make-up. I thought that their work was outstanding and helped along with the models to really make the shoot a success. 

Rachel's wedding dress is 80 years old! Perfect for the vintage style theme which is so popular at the moment.

Now a series of pictures from the wedding. I use a very natural style of photography, creating a relaxed environment, whilst carefully setting up a scene to capture a moment that really shows the authentic emotion of the day and the genuine connection of the couple. Pre-Wedding Portrait Photography Shoot Examples

Here is the first of two blogs showing some images from a wonderful opportunity that I had earlier this month to create some examples of wedding photography for my portfolio.

This blog features an example of a pre-wedding shoot with Rachel Heyworth and Ian Wood this couple are great fun and a pleasure to photograph. On the session I had the pleasure of working alongside, and learning from Lisa Aldersley a superb photographer and a real inspiration.

In the next blog you'll see some shots from Rachel and Ian's mock wedding, there is a vintage theme to it and they both look amazing.

A pre-wedding shoot is a superb way for me to get to know the couple even better before their big day. It can also provide images for a signature board or guest book for the wedding.

All You Need is Love

I often use props in my portrait photographs as they can help tell a story, or give its subject something to interact with.

First Birthday

So here we are, one year on from the start of my media and photography businesses and it has been quite a year. I’ve learnt a lot, met some very interesting people and worked on a number of different and very enjoyable assignments.

I launched my businesses on May 5^th with Paul Saunders Media tapping into my experiences in broadcasting & PR and Paul Saunders Photography giving me the opportunity to turn a lifetime’s passion into a full time job.

There are some people to thank for their help, firstly Hutton Creates who designed my logo, Freebird who do a brilliant job creating both my media and photography websites. I'd also like to thank Aspire CPT whose courses were both inspirational and practical, plus the photography community who I have found to be very friendly and open for the exchange of ideas.

My work has consisted of a number of family portraiture commissions as well as profile and commercial photography driven by my media company. I have sold a number of my Scottish landscape pictures and my photographs have been published in magazines, newspapers and websites including Lonely Planet.
